We know headmaster Keller
Was a biology teacher.
Soon he would get a call-up,
A hero couldn’t come back.
School leavers were not born to die,
They were born to live and to fly.
Fascists interrupted their dreams,
All disappeared like a stream.
They defended our Motherland,
Fought together side by side.
By Moscow, Kursk, Stalingrad,
Tula, Smolensk and Leningrad…
Day by day, month by month, four years!
Difficult years of victories…
For cities, villages, rivers
Fought patriotically graduates.
War brings diseases, hunger, pain,
Death, orphans, loneliness, famine.
Horrible war makes people cry,
Terrible war makes people die.
Mothers of those who forever young remained,
Women, whose husbands were captured,
All the girls whose loves were killed,
Children whose fathers were lost,
Let’s gather in a big round ring
Honorable anti - war songs to sing.
Let’s unite to march for peace,
Let’s fight for peace on the Earth, please.
Let’s bring our hearts nearer
Together sing patriotic songs to hear.
Let’s put flowers to monuments,
Recite peaceful wonderful poems.
